Booking the car The website of CarTrawler did not give enough information or the information is not correct: There was a problem with this information: insurances. Comment: The purchased package clearly states that 'Third party liability protection (TP)' was included. However when I was at Thrifty, They said that they don't have 'TP' as any insurance, and did not accept that as a third party liability coverage insurance, saying that their third party liability insurance is called 'Supplemental liability insurance (SLI)'. They made me pay extra for such insurance. I feel like I was either tricked by CarTrawler into making me think that I have third party liability coverage. The voucher and the confirmation mail received from CarTrawler after booking the car did not provide sufficient and correct information: There was a problem with this information: insurances. Comment: The voucher was very clear, listing all the items that are included and not included in the package I have paid for. One of the insurance included is the 'Third party liability protection (TP)', which is one of the main reasons I booked with them. Furious to find out later that 'TP' meant nothign to Thrifty, who made me pay for another third party liability insurance. Picking up the car How easy was it to find the rental office/service desk from Thrifty: How clear were the directions on the voucher from CarTrawler: Thrifty offered extra insurances. The info the CarTrawler provided on the voucher about not needing extra insurances was clear: Comment: The voucher do clearly list all the insurance that is included, but not whether there are other insurance where I must purchase at the shop. From my knowledge, the voucher listed all that is mandatory by state law, however, problems arose at the front desk. The staff at the pick-up office of Thrifty was friendly and helpfull: Comment about other issues when picking up the car: Not only were they not empathetic about the issue and my concern, they did seem to want to help. They would not want to contact Cartrawler about the problem, nor would they lend me a phone for me to to do it. I do not have roaming to call. Dropping off the car The staff at the drop off office from Thrifty was friendly and helpfull: General judgement Value for money: Comment: The original cost was excellent, but t with the extra product Thrifty forced me to buy, I could have found a better price elsewhere. Comment: I'm still not sure where the fault is. If CarTrawler really created this 'TP' term to trick customers into thinking that they have the insurance that they actually don't, then it is very dishonest. If Thrifty made me buy their 'SLI', which is their name for third party liability coverage insurance, knowing that I already have that included from CarTrawler, then I must say sorry to CarTrawler and happily change the comments about them. (According to the information provided by the customer, CarTrawler has not been contacted after the reservation was made and was not given a chance to solve problems when they occurred.) |
