However, what they can do is block the amount of excess on your credit card, because your insurance pays out to you and not to them. If there are any problems you should contact CarTrawler immediately. After you agreed to buy an excessive insurance from the rental company, there's nothing they can do anymore because you signed a contract for that insurance with the rental company. You should never agree with excessive insurances and take action before you sign anything.] |

Comment: 1. when you arrive in Gran Canaria, Goldcar say you that you have to pay 60 euros more for the insurance or give an amount of 600 euros in case of accident. You will be required to leave a deposit of 600€' Scaring people about the deposit is one of the most common tricks to sell you excessive insurances (and to earn a commission for nothing). What they don't tell you is that you allready have an insurance with zero excess. So if there is any damage and (part of) your deposit is used by the rental company to cover this your insurance will pay it back to you. This solution is rated: Comment: The car at Santander was presented as being in working order.It appeared so upon receipt but after driving for 30 minutes rain started and the windscreen wipers had clearly not been checked by a Europcar technician. The wipers were jamming in the off position at the drivers side and the wiper blades were disintegrating after less than 9000kms.They were not able to keep the screen clear. Ordered extra's (child seats, roof racks, navigation, ...) were not present when the car was picked up but Europcar did solve this immediately. This solution is rated: Comment: I contacted Europcar service centre which was not well organised and they said they would not be coming to our hotel to make a repair.I decided to phone Europcar at Santander and they said take the car back to them or go to Bilbao Airport and get another car. Our hotel was closer to Bilbao so I went ther and changed the car. This all took time out from our holiday,so I was not happy.
