Comment: First we got another Opel - as large as a minibus. Avis claimed they had no other car than that or a Smart. We waited more than an hour - yet we were still not satisfied but did not have the time for further delay. Avis offered extra insurances that were excessive. We wouldn't rent a car from Avis again. Comment: First they tried to pursuade me to rent a car that would cost EUR 10 extra per day. Then I got the 'bus' and in the end a car much larger than we wanted for the narrow roads in Southern France! Even after one week I could smell the smoke, I always thought that smoking is forbidden in rent a cars. All I complain about is the the smoke stench, i am NOT complaining about the dirty polstery, this may happen with rent a cars. Hertz offered extra insurances.
