Every car requires an electronic tag for the system. Everything is automated and there is no person to collect toll on highway. Without such a tag, a car will be fined if it passing a tolling station. The staff at Thrifty counter did not mention this to us. Thrifty does not provide us with this tag. On the road, we were very careful every time passing a polling station. We simply cannot find any person collecting tolls. As the result, we received several fines in Sydney. Problems while on the road This problem occured: high toll. The people from Thrifty did not handle this adequately: Comment: After returning from Australia, we received several fine notices for highway tolls. On top of that, Thrifty also send us notice for extra management charge for these fines. We complained this to Thrifty. Eventually, Thrifty dropped the extra management charge. We still have to pay the fines related to the highway tolls.
